Marketable Industries:

Emergency Management and 9-1-1 Agencies:
This is what E-Lert was primarily designed for. By placing E-Lert monitoring stations at logistical locations, severe weather reports can be verified without sending a trained person out into the field. Radar can show areas of rotation but can not indicate whether the rotation is on the ground or not. With E-Lert, the situation can be monitored through live video as well as having the up to date, local weather data available. By having more than one monitoring station in the area, a storm front can be monitored and information can be given out to the public and media on a more precise scale.

Hazardous Materials Teams:
This is what E-Lert Mobile was specifically designed for. With all the expense of a mobile command center, it is not beneficial to place the command center inside the danger zone. With E-Lert Mobile, the monitoring station can be placed on scene and through a wireless connection, video and data can be observed from the mobile command center up to two miles away. This keeps the command center and the accompanying personnel out of danger.

Police Departments and S.W.A.T. Teams:
E-Lert Mobile has been very beneficial in tactical surveillance situations. With the capability of controlling the camera wirelessly, officers can place the unit in a viewable location while keeping themselves in a safe environment. The zoom control and recording capabilities allow detailed observation of the scene while at the same time providing evidence once the situation is under control.

Fire Departments and Forestry Agencies:
Before the current technology age, Forestry officers used to sit atop fire towers and keep a lookout for smoke from woods and forest fires. E-Lert allows them to keep an eye on things from the comfort and convenience of their station. Once a fire is spotted or occurs, fire fighters can set up E-Lert mobile to monitor wind speed and direction from the location of the incident. A major fire can create its own environment and be responsible for sudden wind shifts, inflows, and outflows. This makes relying on fixed weather stations that may be miles away useless. E-Lert Mobile gives them accurate data where the situation is located.

Highway Departments and Departments of Transportation:
D.O.T.s can strategically place E-Lert along the highways to monitor traffic and road conditions. Updated images and weather data can be uploaded to a web site for the public to view for traffic as well as weather conditions. This provides positive public feedback as well as being a useful tool. E-Lert Mobile can be set up quickly and be used to monitor paving and repair conditions as they take place. Several E-Lert Mobile units can be set up along a repair or construction zone allowing one supervisor to monitor all activity from one central on scene location.

Schools and Universities:
School science and meteorology departments can use E-Lert for constant weather observation. Time lapsed recordings can train students of how clouds form or how a system changes and causes inflows and outflow boundaries. Studies of wind speed, rain fall amounts, and barometric pressure changes are even done in elementary schools. Mississippi State University’s broadcast meteorology department is the largest in the nation and uses StratusStation equipment to train the future on-air meteorologists.

Agricultural and mining operations:
These operations are reliant on knowing weather conditions and rainfall amounts. E-Lert can provide all the weather data needed from any location a company desires to place a monitoring system. The headquarters of a mining operation which may be in Chicago can monitor live video and weather conditions from operations they may have in Birmingham or Phoenix or even overseas in Africa or England. All that is needed is a high speed internet connection and electricity.

Municipal Water Authorities:
Water Authorities have to keep a constant watch on rain fall amounts. These agencies are also concerned about security with all the national threats we have today. E-Lert can aid in both areas. E-Lert can provide constant video surveillance of the water treatment facilities as well as providing rainfall data. Agencies may want to expand the network by placing the E-Lert monitoring stations on their water tanks and well sites as well to provide security measures in these locations. One E-Lert server can provide access to hundreds of monitoring sites. City government can be sold on this idea by uploading images and weather data to the city’s website for public viewing. A city may also want to offer corporate sponsorship for this type of website access and offer advertising opportunities on the website.

Construction Companies:
E-Lert as well as E-Lert Mobile can be set up at construction sites allowing property investors the capabilities of monitoring construction progress. Condo investors can use this to actually show potential buyers the proposed property and how it is progressing. Images or live video can be uploaded to a website for clients to log into. Once the condo is complete, owners can log in to view weather conditions and keep an eye on their property.

Golf Courses and Recreational Facilities:
Everyone wants to know the weather conditions and how the greens look when getting a tee time. By uploading information and current images to a website, members can simply go to the web address and view all the information for themselves. Parents can log onto recreational facility site and determine how crowded the areas are before dropping their children off and what they need to dress them in. Facility owners can monitor grounds and use the camera controls to focus in on certain areas for live viewing.

Outdoor Special Events:
Most major event hosts now insure their event for rainout and weather related problems. In doing this, they have to rely on fixed weather stations or actually hire a meteorologist to attend the event and keep an eye on things for the policy to pay. The problem on relying on fixed stations which may be miles away is that it may rain at the event and not at the station, causing the policy not to pay in case of a rainout. With E-Lert Mobile, the station can be set up on site and conditions recorded as they occur for full and accurate weather conditions. The camera simply provides more proof of weather conditions as well as giving the capability of monitoring crowds.
